Before the t-shirt fundraiser began, I estimated my profit would be $1,200 by selling 100 t-shirts. I should have known, though! Time and again, my family and friends astound me with overwhelming love and support.
We surpassed my goal of 100 shirts 3 days before the fundraiser even ended, and the final count is 122! An amazing 100 supporters destroyed my $1,200 goal by buying shirts and making general donations that total over $3,500, almost triple what I expected!
My family thanks from the bottom of our hearts all who bought t-shirts and donated.
I have now raised $5,175 toward my $10,000 goal this year!
Stay tuned for information about our August fundraiser, where we will be raffling a Chromebook tablet/laptop and Beats earphones!
On Tuesday, June 5, 2007, my brother Nathan Marti, a uniformed Diplomatic Security officer at the State Department, was riding his motorcycle to work on 395-N into Washington, DC. He was struck head on and killed instantly by a drunk driver going the wrong way. Nathan was only 25 years old.
